Grant Thornton has appointed a new member firm in Kenya following the departure of the former member firm in December 2011. VKM Kenya (VKM) have joined the global organisation with effect from 1 January 2012 and will operate as Grant Thornton.
Founded in 1983, the firm, led by Kamal Shah, has five partners and 127 staff and offers a full range of audit, tax and advisory services. Based in Nairobi, the firm has ambitions to expand its operations to new locations, to increase the range of services they offer and accordingly expand their people base. The firm’s clients include international corporates and privately owned businesses as well as not for profit organisations and social enterprises. Particular industry sector expertise includes manufacturing, trading, agriculture, services, tourism and financial services. VKM was formerly a member of the MSI Global Alliance.
