Grant Thornton International appoints global leader – strategic development & growth
08 February 2012
Grant Thornton International has appointed Paul Raleigh, previously managing partner of Grant Thornton Ireland, to the newly created position of global leader – strategic development & growth on its global leadership team.
In his new role on the global leadership team, Paul Raleigh will focus primarily on leading organisational growth through merger and acquisition throughout the world.
Ed Nusbaum, CEO of Grant Thornton International, said of the appointment, “Paul Raleigh brings with him extensive knowledge and experience of running a hugely successful member firm, through good times and bad, and has also helped to develop our global strategy. The recent and significant mergers in Russia, China and the Netherlands are clear examples of the opportunities that exist for us globally.”
Paul Raleigh added, “Our investment in our brand and infrastructure over recent years means that we are better positioned than any of our direct competitors to attract other firms and people to join us. We know that the market and regulators are also looking to us to provide the scale and resources capable of playing a much greater role in the audit, tax and advisory markets.
“To make the most of our unique market position we need to be actively looking to grow through M&A and I am looking forward to working with Grant Thornton member firms across the world.”
