Grant Thornton appoints new chairman of Board of Governors

Peter Bodin, managing partner of Grant Thornton Sweden, has been elected as chairman of the board of governors of Grant Thornton International, the highest decision making body within the global accounting organisation. He succeeds Ed Nusbaum who has been appointed as CEO of Grant Thornton International. Peter will serve a two year fixed term from 1 January 2010. Grant Thornton International is one of the world's leading global accounting organisations, with more than 30,000 partners and staff in over 100 countries.

The board of governors is comprised of the chairman, the CEO and 18 additional members, the majority of whom are active senior partners from Grant Thornton member firms around the world. The board appoints the CEO, sets Grant Thornton priorities and budget and approves any recommended changes to the organisation's constitutional arrangements based on the recommendation of the CEO.

Peter has been CEO of Grant Thornton in Sweden since 2000, when he was the youngest CEO of any of the large accounting firms in Sweden. Peter is passionate about leadership and business development and is a frequent speaker in the Swedish business community and at many universities.
