Partner remuneration - US

Partner assessment
Partners/principals are awarded on unit based compensation or fixed compensation based on their experience and performance. There is also a bonus plan for all partners/principals. The overall performance rating, based on the evaluation against the activities under the performance indicators on our balanced scorecard, is the basis for the bonus and any unit award or fixed compensation adjustment. In general, partners/principals with less than seven years of experience are eligible for compensation adjustments each year while those with greater than seven years are adjusted every other year.

Annual evaluation
The firm has designed key performance indicators for partners/principals that are aligned with the firm's strategic plan and its balanced scorecard. These performance indicators are focused on Quality, People, Client Service, Market activities and Profitability. Each year, the underlying activities in each of the indicators are established for each partner in collaboration with his/her supervising partner. These indicators and underlying activities are evaluated at the end of each year in a documented performance review and discussion, which results in an overall performance rating for each partner/principal.
